Our Early Literacy Collections are designed to help
teachers and parents dramatically increase pre-school
students’ reading and language experiences. Carefully
selected, great books provide for classroom read-alouds,
student pretend reading, talking about books every day
in school, and home reading every night.
Books
Books in our Early Literacy Collection contain engaging
stories and picture books selected for our youngest
readers. This collection can provide a strong family
literacy component to pre-school programs, providing
read-at-home books that parents, including those with
limited reading skills, can enjoy with their children.
Early Literacy Program Materials:
500-Book Kid Log Books
Use these log books to track children’s reading time.
Skills Card Sets Skills Cards are tailored to the needs of pre-school students at this reading level and color-coded to the 100 Book Challenge leveling system. Skills Cards help teachers and parents recognize a student’s level and teach the appropriate reading strategies for that level. Skills Cards make explicit what each student must practice in order to move to the next level.
Folder Sets
Children use these durable two-pocket folders to hold their log sheets, Skills Cards, and books The outside color marks how much they have read (from beginner to 600 Books).
Incentive Kits
Reward your students for reading. Extrinsic rewards are effective in
motivating children to remind their parents to read to them. Early Literacy
prize kits contain prizes appropriate for preschool children and have
enough prizes for 25 students.
